Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join our Area 10 account. This role will be based on-site at Hale Depot, Wilmslow Roundabout, Hale, Cheshire, WA15 8XL.

Working with National Highways, Amey provides Maintenance and Response services for more than 300 miles of strategic road network in the Northwest, including some of the region’s busiest motorways: the M6, M56 and M62. Amey’s Highways business also carries out grass cutting, sign cleaning and pothole repairs, as well as providing traffic management, incident response and winter maintenance services, including gritting and snow clearance.

Amey works as part of a ‘community’ of specialists who together deliver the Area 10 Asset Delivery model, for which Amey Consulting delivers the Design Services Contract.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (You will be required to work both day and night shifts)

You will be responsible for:

  • Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the 18th IEE wiring regulations

  • Maintaining and repairing electrical installations in accordance with the Regulations

  • Diagnosing and replace failed components

  • Carrying out electrical inspection tests

  • Installing electrical equipment

  • Excavating for bollard and sign foundations

  • Complying with Company Health and Safety Policy, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other statutory legislation

  • To undertake out of hours callout duties as per rota requirement

  • Take part in out of hours emergency services on a call out basis

  • Other maintenance tasks as required

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Full driving licence
  • City & Guilds (C&G) 2391 Inspection and Test or the equivalent C&G 2394 & 5

  • C&G 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations

  • Able to work at heights

  • Experience in manual work involving an element of hand excavation
