Our client is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer to join their team in Tewkesbury. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 13:45 - 21:45.

Salary offered is £35-37K pending experience.

As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will be focusing on planned preventative maintenance and supporting the Tewkesbury Production site and Distribution Depot. You will also work alongside our reactive maintenance team as required by the Engineering Department.

This role requires detailed, effective problem solving and confident fault finding skills, with the ability to take initiative and a proactive approach. Working on a range of machinery, a strong electrical bias is required.

Electrical Test Engineer key duties:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on equipment across the Tewkesbury site.
  • Adhere to and adapt the current schedules, liaising with the Engineering Manager as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations, inspection protocols and required testing thresholds.
  • Conduct periodic lubrication and inspection of all machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct annual electrical emergency light testing in line with planned schedules.
  • Conduct annual electrical distribution testing.
  • To respond to breakdowns and provide reactive maintenance.
  • To repair and test all electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
  • To fault find and resolve issues.

Electrical Test Engineer skills & experience required:

  • Electrical Engineer with the following up-to-date qualifications:

- Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation (C&G 2391-51)

- 18th edition regulations amendment 2

- 18th edition Onsite guide amendment 2

- Guidance notes 3 inspection and testing amendment 2

- Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

  • Strong fault finding skills with ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Experience of high speed machinery, ideally within an FMCG industry
  • Experience of working with automated machinery
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • To be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • To complete tasks in a timely manner and deliver a high standard of work
