Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Day Shift Monday to Friday
Ilkeston (Derbyshire)
Equivalent basic - £43,390 per year + paid overtime and good benefits package

INTRODUCTION

My client specialises in Waste Management across the Midlands and are known for their attention to detail and ability to work within a highly regulated industry.

Due to continued expansion and the development of the Midlands’ sites, they are now looking for a suitably experienced and qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on the day shift at their impressive industrial production site.

THE ROLE

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all inspections, maintenance and repair work is carried out to a high standard and within all statutory health, safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintaining equipment to manufacturer's and site standards in order to provide cost effective maintenance on site and keep all processes operational and efficient and reduce downtime.
  • Carrying out repairs/adjustments as required during routine and Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Identifying root cause of plant or equipment failure.
  • Working flexibly in all required areas of the site and in close co-operation with other members of the maintenance team.
  • Identifying areas / opportunities for both you and operational improvements and communicating these appropriately to the maintenance manager.



This will be an incredibly varied role, so the ability to plan your workload and prioritise tasks, as well as being able to react to changes is vital to you being a success



It would also be useful to hold a full driving licence.

This position requires working a day shift, Monday to Friday, consisting of 0600 to 1600 (6am to 4pm) one week and 0800 to 1800 (8am to 6pm) the week after. You will be paid for the full 10 hours, including your breaks.

THE PERSON

In order to be considered for this Electrical Maintenance Engineer role it is expected that you will carry strong electrical maintenance experience, along with sufficient mechanical experience to work safely, and:

  • Carry relevant qualifications relating to your craft. HNC/HND or similar vocational qualifications would be ideal.
  • 18th Edition
  • Exposure to mechanical maintenance, including pumps, motors, and similar automation equipment.
  • Proven ability in a similar Electrical Maintenance position – ideally within an industrial production environment

As well as proven experience and working knowledge of:

  • Industrial electrical installations and maintenance
  • Electro-mechanical systems
  • Industrial equipment operated by PLCs (Siemens controls)

As this is a permanent fulltime position you will ALREADY need to be within a reasonable commute of Ilkeston. This is non-negotiable.
