Location: Newark

Salary: £competitive DOE

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Engineering gates and barrier work for production.
  • Production of electrical schematics.
  • Creating custom PLC programmes for specialist projects.
  • Working on developing inhouse automation engineering bills of materials.
  • Assisting the shop floor with technical problems.
  • Attending site when needed to diagnose problems.
  • Project manage large projects with telephone support.
  • Update technical documents and manuals when needed.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed at all times in your area.
  • Work in co-operation with all company personnel both inside and outside the office.

Skills and Qualifications for the Electrical Design Engineer:

  • ONC, HNC or Degree (in electrical discipline).
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • 18th edition (or 17th edition) Wiring Regulations.
  • Familiarity with smart relays and PLC programming.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft, Excel advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Able to use initiative to resolve problems.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and to specific deadlines.
  • Organised, able to juggle multiple projects and prioritise work.
  • Able to cope well under pressure.
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work within a team.
  • Will be a strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, engineers and staff internally.
