Electrical Design Engineer

Are you a talented Electrical Design Engineer, with draughting experience of electrical schematics and loom, and with experience of Solidworks and Autocad, then this  Devon based could be the perfect opportunity for you.  It is a permanent job, and will require somebody to be in the office within this busy engineering company on a daily basis.  Due to the nature of the work, you MUST be a British national or have full citizenship.  Security clearance will also need to be carried out post offer of employment. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Component and assembly design from concept to production in an automotive environment using CAD.
  • Prepare documentation for design reviews
  • Produce circuit diagrams and schematics.
  • Produce designs to meet the agreed requirements to time and within hours specified.
  • Maintain accurate design records and maintain drawing issue control.
  • Use the PDM system to store and issue drawings.
  • Revise or amend existing designs and drawings to meet new requirements
  • Work with the Project Engineer and other team members to provide the best output.
  • Liaise with suppliers in order to source new components.
  • Assess prototype components for correct fit and function.
Preferred Skills: 
  • Cad skills preferably Autocad and SolidWorks.
  • Engineering draughting experience of electrical schematics and looms.
  • Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation ideal, although not essential
  • Minimum of HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, ideally Electrical Engineering Degree qualified.
  • Proven experience of working in an Electrical Designer role.
Working Hours: 40 hour week Monday to Friday (with an early finish of 1pm on a Friday!).  Due to the nature of the work, you MUST BE a British national or have full citizenship.  Security clearance will also need to be carried out post offer of employment.
