Electrical Assembler

Job Title: Harness Builder/ Electrical Assembler
Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Duration: 3+ months
Hours: Mon to Thurs 7am - 5pm, Friday, 7am to 1pm

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Assembler / Harness Builder.

Although the role is not working with live electricity, candidates must have an Electrical Assembly background.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* To manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.
* To repair parts and equipment when needed.
* To inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.
* To order parts and equipment as necessary.
* To complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply signatures as appropriate.
* To identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the Electrical Team Leader.
* To undertake training as and when required.
* To work within a realistic timeframe.
* To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
* To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities
* To ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
* To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
* To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
* To follow written or verbal instruction.

* The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
* To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
* To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.

Qualifications & Education:
* Electrical Qualification - Desirable
* Previous experience in rail or automotive industry - Desirable
