Contract details: 6 months (inside IR35), potential to extend
Hourly rate: £26.10 via an Umbrella company

The Opportunity

Belcan Workforce Solutions are recruiting for an Early Careers Manager in Stevenage to manage, develop, and deliver all Early Careers Programmes for one of our Space & Defence clients.

If you are passionate about developing talent and managing educational programmes, this role offers an excellent opportunity to shape the future of Apprentices, Graduates, and Interns.

This role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of 2-3 days per week on site at the Stevenage facility. There will also be opportunities to travel to other UK sites.

Role & Responsibilities

As the Early Careers Manager, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the Apprentice, Graduate, and Intern programmes and their educational standards. This will involve delivering and improving on existing frameworks and ensuring implementation across the company, defining support needed by managers, creating clear development plans, and ensuring end point assessment plans are identified and in place.

Key Tasks

Develop Talent - Work closely with various business units to develop our client's early careers talent pipeline. Your strategic, integrated approach to talent development will shape the future of the company.

Graduate Programme - Collaborate with key stakeholders to build and continually improve the Graduate Development Programme. Manage graduates with ongoing discussions about performance, development, career, and succession planning.

Apprenticeship Programme - Lead apprenticeship recruitment initiatives and support Apprentice Managers in their management of the Technical Apprenticeships across UK sites.

Degree Apprenticeships - Directly manage the Degree Apprenticeships across UK sites and collaborate with the recruitment team to lead Degree Apprenticeship recruitment initiatives.

Internship Programme - Ensure that interns have a clear development plan and that objectives are set, and mid/long-term goals are identified through the assessment process.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be successful as the Early Careers Manager, you should have demonstrable experience of the design, management, and continuous improvement of early careers programmes. You should be confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders to senior levels and be able to build relationships and work in partnership with key universities and colleges to develop a strong candidate pipeline in partnership with the Recruitment team.

Successful applicants will be required to be security screened and obtain a Basic disclosure certificate on appointment and meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance.
