Key Responsibilities:
- Representing clients held at police stations
- Managing a caseload of criminal defense cases across various offenses
- Advocacy in Magistrates' Court, including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if the candidate has Higher Rights)
The Ideal Candidate:
- Solicitors with at least 1 year's PQE in criminal law
- Crime duty accreditation preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Proficiency in IT
- Ability to handle a demanding workload independently and within a team.
- Passion for publicly funded work
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong client and team building abilities.
- Ongoing training and support for continuous career development within a strong and growing multi-office team.
