Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Wakefield, United Kingdom

Salary: £150-£220 per day

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:15-15:30

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our team at Veritas Education supporting Secondary Schools in Wakefield. The successful candidate will have a strong background in DT education, with the ability to inspire and engage students in practical and theoretical aspects of design, engineering, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that foster creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.
  • Develop and implement curriculum content in line with national standards and school objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported to excel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the DT department.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and other extracurricular activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in Design and Technology.
  • Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level, with a strong track record of student achievement.
  • Excellent knowledge of DT concepts, techniques, and technologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of educational trends and developments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
