We are seeking a passionate DT Teacher to join our school in Harleston in a full time role beginning in September 2024!

Currently, I am looking for experienced DT teachers to provide a great professional service to the Secondary school we are currently working with. This is a temp - perm position, which allows both you and the school time to decide whether the role is right for you. They are looking for someone who is determined to do well and dedicated to the success of their students. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging DT curriculum content, with a particular emphasis on hands-on workshop activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons, integrating practical workshop sessions to enhance student learning.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Utilise workshop equipment and resources effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and support for individual development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the DT curriculum and departmental initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialisation in Design and Technology or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging DT lessons, with a focus on practical workshop activities.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop equipment, tools, and materials relevant to the DT curriculum.
  • Genuine desire to work with children.
