Designated Safeguarding Lead

We are seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our SEN school in Sittingbourne, renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional education and support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This is an immediate opportunity for a safeguarding professional ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safeguarding concerns within the school.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to address safeguarding concerns and promote student welfare.
  • Conduct assessments and investigations into safeguarding issues, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all safeguarding incidents and interventions.
  • Implement measures and strategies to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
