Driving concrete technician

About the role:
Working as part of a team, Concrete Technicians have the use of a Company vehicle and fuel card to travel to our clients sites and collect samples of concrete to return to our laboratory for testing. Concrete Technicians are also required to spend part of their week assisting with the testing of concrete samples in the laboratory and includes general laboratory maintenance duties. The role involves manual handling of heavy test specimens. Concrete samples can weigh between 2kg and 9kg each.
Responsibilities:
- • Collection and transportation of test specimens (concrete cubes, cores, bricks, mortar etc.)
- • On-site sampling and testing of concrete, including making test cubes, slump testing, flow testing and rebound hammer testing.
- • Responsible for the Road-Worthiness of the given vehicle; this includes minor maintenance such as changing flat tyres and light bulbs, or liaising with on-site fleet advisor to action
- • Conducting Daily Vehicle Checks to ensure your assigned vehicle is well-maintained and reporting any defects to Fleet Management.
- • Ensuring your assigned vehicle is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times.
- • Completion of site paperwork
- • Liaison with Client Site Engineers and Managers
- • Processing test specimens through the laboratory
- with the testing of concrete samples in the laboratory
- • Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory & site equipment
Experience:
- • Previous experience of site/laboratory testing of concrete, or previous experience in a construction or industrial environment.
- • Experience of London City driving is essential.
Skills:
- • Be organized and have excellent communication skills
- • Able to maintain concentration and pay attention to detail and accuracy
- • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- • CSCS Card preferable
- • Full clean UK driving license essential

Training:
- • Full, internal training is provided "on the job" by HCT as part of the induction process.
- • Manual Handling training provided as part of the induction process.
- • FORS training will be carried out prior to any site works.
- • Ongoing training and development will be available to further your career.
