Location: Weymouth

Salary: Scale C - Starts at £23,121 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £24,462 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week. Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Role

We have new opportunities within our Police Road Safety Team where you will play a pivotal role is providing clerical support within the department.

This role will also involve dealing with incoming calls from members of the public as well as working closely with police staff colleagues and officers within the organisation.

Administrative/clerical experience, to include the use of Microsoft Office applications is essential for the role, in addition to good customer service skills. The ability to work independently within the office environment and as part of a team is also key.

This role is based at our Weymouth East Police Station however there is the opportunity for some homeworking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating the processing of Driver Awareness Scheme (DAS) and Safe and Better Driving (SBD) courses
  • Processing of Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIPs),
  • Officer Issued Tickets (OITs), including Fixed, Mobile, Red Light and Laser camera offences captured on film/video.
  • Responsibilities will also include preparation of statements for presentation at court and attending court as a witness when required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Administrative/clerical experience, to include the use of Microsoft Office applications is essential for the role
  • Good customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently within the office environment and as part of a team is also key.
