Director of Sales & Marketing

Our client, an upscale and full-service hotel boasting a central location in Liverpool city centre, is looking to appoint a Director of Sales and Marketing.

The listed building offers unrivalled grandeur from when it was first constructed and retains its architecturally significant features.

The hotel features opulent bedrooms, a luxurious spa, swimming pool and relaxation zone, as well as a exclusive restaurant, residents’ lounge, and a bar. In addition, it offers extensive wedding, conference and meeting facilities.

We are searching for a 'hands on’ and pro-active Sales & Marketing individual with a panache in delivering the commercial goals of the business and growing sales and revenue streams across multiple outlets. In this role you will build and develop strong relationships with clients, by managing the client accounts, revenue generation, local PR and brand image; you are the face and voice of the Brand.

You will be required to manage the external and internal sales function, generate new business and maintain existing account revenues. You will be expected to work in a team and liaise with the other Heads of Department and General Manager with regards to promotions, events and regular guests. This will involve accurate forecasting, reviewing and considering the market demand, keeping competitor activity/SWOT analysis up to date on a regular basis.

Through successful networking, client meetings entertaining, exhibitions, presentations, trade shows & open days you will be responsible for driving sales within the resort property and local market place, ensuring all revenue targets are achieved, and exceeded.

Knowledge & Skills Required by the Job Holder:

  • Experience/track record of Sales Management in a hotel as you will be dealing with sales across spa, food and beverage, events, rooms, restaurant etc.
  • Full knowledge of RFP's to effectively process and complete
  • A hungry for progress and a record of "self starting", identifying opportunity and acting on the needs of the business quickly and commercially.
  • Strong commercial outlook - sales and revenue driven.
  • Proactively seek out new accounts for accommodation and conferences and increase market share for the hotel.
  • Excellent sales, customer care, account management, negotiation skills and conversion record.
  • Lead the promotion, execution and communication of client feedback.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
  • A willingness to travel (presenting to prospective partner organisations, meeting and entertaining clients, attending trade fairs/shows).
  • Knowledge of PMS and CRM systems preferred, although training will be given.
  • Report writing skills and able to use word, excel spreadsheets and powerpoint for presentations.
  • Understanding and experience of Marketing principles - Direct Mail, Advertising, Sales promotion, Web and Social Media.
  • Take lead on all promotions and campagins reflecting each outlets on various social media platforms
  • Remain focused at all times and able to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

You will effectively and actively manage the Business Plan and Strategy for the group concept, growing sales and develop the business in line with the annual budget.

You will be confident in your approach to successful networking, client meetings, entertaining, exhibitions, presentations, trade shows & open days, establishing the hotel in the market place, and ensuring all revenue targets are achieved, and exceeded.
