Job Purpose

The postholder will be mainly responsible for the effective running of the pre-print section of a Nozomi Digital press. You will organize, inspect, and check all media prior to production. This key role will encompass preparation of media including size and quantity checks as well as loading and unloading the feeder element of the press. Producing work accurately in line with job specifications within the agreed timescales. To organize their department to be efficient, maintain stocks of core agreed materials and to ensure the equipment is maintained correctly.

The following criteria are preferred but not a must for this role:

  • PPT/FLT qualifications
  • Extensive POS board media experience
  • Experience working with press Feeder systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and quality check media prior to commencing any printing. Ensuring total quantity is available before commencing.
  • Ensure media conforms to job docket size and quantity.
  • Operating the feeder area of the Nozomi efficiently and in line with expected performance levels to maintain targets.
  • Operating and maintaining the coating devices.
  • QC material and print to job requirements.
  • Notify the Team/manager when issues occur, giving as much time as possible as to not affect production.
  • Maintain and process work according to the production schedule.
  • Produce print in line with company quality processes and standards.
  • Keep work area and machinery clean and tidy.
  • Manage your time to ensure continuous smooth and efficient operation of Nozomi.
  • Work using 5s principles.
  • Ensure company Health and Safety policies are adhered to.
  • Maintain the machinery to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Carry out every day essential maintenance to ensure machine performs at the highest standards.
  • Problem solving minor issues, to ensure that the work flows smoothly through the department.
  • You will be trained to carry out other Nozomi print operations as and when required, but this will be your key role.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of large format digital print processes and machines.
  • Knowledge of Delta clients and quality standards would be an advantage.
  • Operational experience with Digital POS printing.
  • Trained in the usage of PPT and FLT operations.
  • Experienced in handling POS Medias.
  • Experienced in understanding potential problems in media to prevent press downtime.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and plan ahead of schedule.
  • Understanding of digital print processes and the concept.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious.
  • As you will be part of a large team, an Effective team member is essential.
