About the company
Our client is an expert property developer with a rich 30-year history. They operate across multiple dedicated business units all of which are active across England and South Wales and aligned to structural growth trends.

About the role
You now have the opportunity as Development Manager to join this leading national organisation where you will manage and support with the identification, securing of and management of development opportunities, or phases of a development, in line with regional and business strategy.
In your role you will;
* As Development Manager, be accountable for ensuring all activities within your role and those of your line reports meet company standards to keep everyone safe. Create and maintain a positive culture of health and safety to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all activities are properly planned and carried out in line with the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
* Implement the regional strategy for the acquisition / development / disposal or transfer of schemes to the Investment Portfolio
* Support with the identification of new development opportunities in line with the business plan
* Work with the asset management and planning team to identify opportunities
* Manage the development of sites to the agreed programme and business plan.
* Work alongside Planning to liaise with external bodies to achieve planning permission
* Generate of development brief
* Instigate, review and challenge design proposals, delivering compliance with business case and brief
* Liaise with Construction team and monitoring of construction processes, checking for compliance with business case
* Co-ordinate marketing, leasing and sale of scheme
* Prepare, or assist in the preparation of, bids, acquisition packs for the presentation to Investment Committee for purchase approval
* Develop and build effective relationships with key regional stakeholders
* Manage the appraisals, valuations, budgets and cash flow processes for assigned developments in line with business authorisation levels and in partnership with Finance
* Manage multi-disciplined external project teams and work collaboratively with internal project team members
* Buddy Graduates during period of rotation within the commercial discipline
* Promote and live Company values
* Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations
* Develop and ensure safe working practices

About you
* Experience operating in the residential sector preferably with a developer or agent
* RICS qualified
* A track record in delivery of relevant development opportunities and successfully negotiating and managing all aspects of the acquisition, development, leasing and disposal process
* Strong technical, financial skills
* A track record of successfully managing a multi-disciplined team
* Professional network
* Full valid driving licence
