DT Teacher
  • Location: Luton
  • Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Start Date: September 2024

A “good” Ofsted-rated school in Luton is looking for a creative and dedicated DT (Design Technology) Teacher to join their team from September 2024. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a dynamic DT curriculum and fostering a passion for the subject among students.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging, and well-planned DT lessons, with a strong emphasis on differentiation to meet the needs of all students.
  • Implement Assessment for Learning strategies to enhance the educational experience.
  • Set challenging tasks that stimulate student interest and contribute to raising standards of attainment, behaviour, and achievement.
  • Deliver lessons aligned with the agreed classes/courses, focusing on developing every student’s full potential.
  • Value and foster the skills, interests, and experiences of students, promoting independence in their learning journey.
  • Maintain a stimulating learning environment within the teaching area.
  • Develop a broad range of practical, oral, personal, social, and academic skills within the student community.
  • Collaborate with other staff and departments to deliver a coherent curriculum.
  • Uphold good discipline among students, recognising and rewarding progress.
  • Mark, assess, and moderate students’ coursework in accordance with examination board requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A strong academic record in Design Technology or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • In-school teaching experience, gained through Teacher training.
  • Knowledge of the Curriculum and SEN Code of Practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
