We are looking for a dedicated Design and Technology ECT with a specialisation in Graphics to join a great department at an ‘Outstanding’ secondary school in Erdington. As an ECT, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of DT students, supporting their journey through the national curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Graphics Design, catering to the diverse needs of students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to inspire creativity and foster critical thinking.
  • Support the induction process of an ECT, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure a successful transition into the profession.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Design and Technology department to enhance the learning experience and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Utilise state-of-the-art equipment and resources provided by the school to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

About the Department:
The Design and Technology department boasts state-of-the-art facilities and is equipped with the latest technology to support teaching and learning. With a focus on providing a supportive and nurturing environment, they are committed to empowering both students and staff to achieve their full potential.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Specialisation in Graphics Design with a strong understanding of the national curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Previous experience working with ECTs or a willingness to support the induction process.
