Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our design team in Huddersfield. As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process from concept development to project completion. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet our high standards of quality, functionality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of designers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of projects.
• Oversee the design process, from initial concept development and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction documentation.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop design briefs, establish project goals, and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Review and approve design proposals, ensuring that they meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives.
• Coordinate with external consultants and suppliers to integrate their expertise and input into the design process.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the design team, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field, with significant experience in design management within the construction industry preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully managing design projects from concept to completion, with a focus on modular construction or similar innovative building methods.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of building regulations, construction standards, and sustainability principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, and familiarity with other design and visualization tools.
