Design Engineer required to join a well-established manufacturing company that specialise in Metal Stamping, based in the Wolverhampton area. The successful candidate will have Solidworks experience and will be responsible for designing fixtures and tools for new products.

Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Responsible for designing fixtures and tools for new products
  • Support estimating and NPI teams with forming analysis for metal stamping and press brake forming
  • Assist estimating team with fixture concepts for quotation purposes
  • Responsible for maintaining site layouts
  • Work with customers on design for manufacture (DFM) improvements
  • Support toolroom and production engineering with designs and technical drawings

Design Engineer Position Requirements

  • Degree, HNC or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline
  • Proven experience with designing fixtures and tools using 3D CAD, preferably Solid Works
  • Fluent with using 2D software packages
  • Understanding of technical drawings and drawing standards
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes - Metal stamping, machining and welded assemblies
  • Experience with CAM software for CNC machining, laser cutting or press brake is advantageous

Design Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Full time - Permanent position
  • 35 hour week - 08:30-16:30 Mon to Thurs and 08:30:13:30 Friday
  • Salary £28,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
  • Quarterly Bonus
  • Pension
