Design Engineer

A world-renowned engineering business that supplies OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across an array of industries in Ashby-De-La-Zouch, is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. On-site they produce a broad and complex product range, utilising modern-day manufacturing techniques. Supplying to key customers right across the globe, this client is working through a considerable period of growth and is offering a competitive starting salary, flexible working hours, hybrid working, up to 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, and bespoke training.

Mechanical Design Engineer duties include -

• Design simple hand-operating fixtures, through to more complex automated multifunction components and tooling.
• Support resolutions of manufacturing-based concerns relevant to new processes, new products, productivity, waste, quality, and safety.
• Work closely with both suppliers and customers from initial enquiries through to the final launch. Liaise with the testing and development teams on new company products
• Project Planning
• Design validations, FEA, prototyping - training will be provided if needed

Mechanical Design Engineer desirable skills and experience -

• Experience working within a similar role / able to use 3D design software.
• Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Relevant manufacturing/mechanical engineering education (HND/HNC).
