07.45 - 17.15 Monday - Thursday  4 Day working week!

My client is based on the South Coast in sunny Bognor Regis, and looking to expand its technical team.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist in product design and development.

Designing and manufacturing bespoke precision-controlled fridges, freezers and incubators from design concept and prototype stage, through to full production and despatch. They are capable of building products that can reliably maintain any temperature between -50ºC and +85ºC.

The Design Engineer role would suit individuals who have previous product design experience and hands on skills.

JOB DESCRIPTIONDate:May 2024  Job title:Design Engineer  Hours:36 hours per week 07:45-17:15 Mon-Thurs

Purpose and objectives of the role

  1. Assist in the design and testing of new & existing refrigeration products.
  2. Support production and optimise the design, fabrication, foaming, and general assembly areas and processes for our products.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Product Design, Prototyping,Testing and Development.
  • Producing drawings of sheet metal components, assemblies, wiring diagrams, BOM’s etc
  • Working with the production team to transition new designs to manufacture
  • Identifying and assessing new components for suitability
  • Continual improvement of our products and processes.
  • Value engineering to reduce costs.
  • Documenting changes to drawings and products in accordance with our ISO9001 system.

Essential Criteria & Experience

  • Robust knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD design software (Solidworks).
  • Previous Product Design Experience Essential
  • Hands On Practical skills
  • Ability to work without supervision and deliver projects effectively and on time
