Design Development Engineer
  • Annual Salary: Circa £45,000 (Depending on Experience)
  • Location: Royston
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Product Management Team, focusing on managing, improving, and engineering changes for our assistive medical devices. This role is perfect for a creative, hands-on professional with a passion for engineering and design in the medical equipment sector.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Update and maintain medical device build specifications, designs, and documentation, ensuring compliance with International Standards.
  • Document product faults and inefficiencies, research, test, and implement solutions with global suppliers.
  • Perform hands-on testing and product development activities, including prototyping and fabrication in our R&D facility.
  • Value engineer existing products to incorporate newer, safer, and more economic technologies and materials.
  • Work closely with Sales and Purchasing to resolve technical product questions and specify custom parts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • SolidWorks (or similar) CAD experience, training, or qualification.
  • Hands-on small tools and bench experience, including general metal and woodwork.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written, for report writing and understanding medical regulatory standards.
