A leading Safety Manufacturing client are on the lookout for an expert Design & Configuration Team Lead to join a dynamic team, lead multiple Engineers and manage product configuration. 

The role is Full Time, needs someone who can be onsite in Cambridgeshire most of the time (flexible remote working available when required), and are offering a competitive salary with benefits, bonuses and generous pension plan.

Specialising in consumer safety manufacturing, my client pride themselves on being a leading brand for security and safety devices for consumer and corporate sites. They design and develop a wide range of products spanning multiple design methodologies, management systems, part numbering schemes and documentation formats.

As the Design & Configuration Team Lead, you will own an exciting mission to create unification and standardisation, through introduction of pragmatic change and discipline to drive excellence.

Design & Configuration Team Lead

As you will be the Team Lead for multiple engineers business, having previous experience within a management role is essential. The successful candidate will need previous expeirence working with multiple characters and have excellent communication and leadership skills.

You will also oversee product configuration throughout its lifecycle, manage numbering systems and ECN/CR processes, while delivering plans efficiently.

Skills overview also includes:

  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Enterprise Resource Planning, with strong experience of establishing and running associated systems and processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Previous experience managing engineering configuration.
  • The role will also include leading and mentoring team members, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Previous experience as a mechanical engineer or equivalent
  • Technical understanding of CAD Systems, BOMs, Packaging design etc.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment, especially within safety critical projects
