Design Assistant - Fitted Furniture

A Design Assistant is required to join the team in a busy furniture showroom in Watford, North West London. The Design Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Designers with drawing room / furniture plans for presentation to clients. The company design and manufacture a range of chairs, tables, fitted bookshelves and display units, beds, wardrobes and various other high-end furniture.

Other duties will involve liaising with clients over the phone to arrange appointments for the designers, dealing with email enquiries, liaising with head office to place furniture orders.

Applicants will need to have a good ability to deal with numbers and measurements. The role will involve working with room plans to create technical drawings for client projects. Previous experience of using CAD would be highly beneficial.

This role is offered on a 5 day per week basis including Saturdays. (the showroom is not open on Sundays) and the Design Assistant will have Sundays and one other day off per week. Hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm. Saturdays are a busy day for the showroom so the Design Assistant will be required to work on Saturdays.

This role would suit someone who is perhaps working in a similar capacity at present or possibly a recent graduate with a relevant degree. In the longer term this job would progress into a Designer role.
