Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Dermatology Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of high-quality dermatology services, providing expert clinical care to patients with a wide range of dermatological conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated consultant to make a significant impact in the field of dermatology while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of dermatological conditions, including skin disorders, inflammatory skin diseases, skin cancer, and cosmetic dermatology.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases, discuss treatment options, and coordinate patient care plans.
  • Perform dermatological procedures and surgeries, including skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and laser therapy, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding dermatological conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives, including audit, research, and development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including dermatology nurses, dermatopathologists, and plastic surgeons, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, including specialty trainees and medical students, providing guidance and support in clinical practice and professional development.

Requirements:
  • Medical degree from a recognized medical school
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Dermatology (or relevant specialty)
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Dermatology or equivalent certification
  • Extensive postgraduate experience in dermatology, including experience working as a consultant or equivalent role
  • Proven clinical expertise and proficiency in performing dermatological procedures and surgeries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and maintaining professional standards of practice
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and participation in continuing medical education (CME) activities
