The Role

Our GB FINMAR team is looking for a Deputy Team Leader to join them.

The Client Relationship Manager – Deputy Team Leader will work with a talented group of Client Relationship Managers in the GB FINMAR team.  FINMAR clients are Insurers of Financial risks who have qualified through our bespoke selection process to receive additional services aimed at helping them to better understand their position in the complex and dynamic market, as well as to help them improve their proposition and capitalise on opportunities to achieve their stated goals.  The Client Relationship Managers are responsible for the delivery of the services, including advocacy, pipeline management, reporting, using data and analytics to solve problems and exploit opportunities and performance management – all with the aim of helping them to improve their proposition, competitive edge, and visibility.

The Client Relationship Manager – Deputy Team Leader will manage several clients directly and will also assist the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the team including line management of some of the Client Relationship Managers in the team, as well as other team co-ordination activities.

The right candidate will have a deep understanding of insurance dynamics, broker, and underwriter behaviours, and (ideally Financial Lines) insurance products. They will have management experience or potential and will have the ability to develop team members to achieve optimum results for the FINMAR clients.  Most importantly they will positively exhibit the WTW values – Integrity, Respect, Client-Focus, Excellence and Teamwork.

The team are based in the Ipswich office, however regular travel to London is required.

Key Duties:
  • Build, develop and provide management and coaching for a team of Client Relationship Managers related to Financial Lines business transacted through the London Market.
  • Assist the Team Leader with the day to day running of the FINMAR GB Client Relationship Management team.
  • Build and foster relationships with senior leadership from our clients to be an effective escalation point for the Client Relationship Managers in the team. 
  • Build and develop relationships with FINMAR colleagues in Mumbai and Ipswich to monitor finances and develop analytical capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Financial Lines broking and claims teams to fully understand our client’s business opportunities and barriers too success, then tailor the services we provide to educate our clients with a view to helping them better understand their position in the market, leading to improvements in their proposition.
  • Work closely with clients to monitor and measure performance against agreed service levels for quoting, placement, policy production and claims service.
  • Regularly attend meetings with clients, for who detailed reports and analysis is provided periodically.
  • Work closely with members of the FINMAR team worldwide to ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of data and ensure a consistent global delivery of services.
  • Build relationships with Financial Lines broking and claims colleagues in order to understand any changes in strategy or current challenges.
  • Assist with the continued development of the FINMAR team’s products globally.


The Requirements
  • Solid experience of the insurance industry either in a client facing or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of financial lines clients, markets, and products (preferable).
  • Experience of managing relationships with senior leadership within the insurance market to assist with problem solving or proactive development of opportunities.
  • Demonstrable ability to coach and develop other team members.
  • Highly articulate and able to communicate and influence with confidence and credibility at all levels, delivery to suit audience and adjust behaviour to suit the political environment.
  • Client relationship focused.
  • Actively promotes ideation and innovation 
  • Ability to analyse, present and interpret detailed analytical client reports.
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence when appropriate.
  • Ability to drive conflict resolution without compromising client relationship.
  • Problem solving skills, innovation, and creativity.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, with a focus on quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
