Eden Brown Synergy has an exciting opportunity for Deputy Manager for a children's residential home in Nottingham.

The Deputy Manager would assist the Registered Manager to ensure efficient day-to-day running of the Childrens Home and deputise for - in the absence of the Registered Manager, may be responsible for assisting the manager in making key decisions, attending meetings, hiring and training new staff, monitoring business performance, preparing reports

As Deputy Manager the ideal candidate would be responsible to:

  • Support the Registered homes Manager in ensuring compliance with the company Policy and Procedures and meeting all OFSTED regulations.
  • Support and work alongside the Registered Manager of the Residential Children's Home in efficiently co-managing the house budget, overseeing the development of staff and the young people in placement, formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments and care plans, supervision and management of staff and maintaining a positive working environment that meets the needs of the service
  • Deputize for the Registered Manager in their absence
  • The Deputy Manager woudl safeguard and promote the welfare and development of the young people
  • Ensure that the young people's needs are recognised and met where possible. This includes, ensuring that they are free from discrimination within the home and to challenge discrimination from outside of the home.
  • Ensure that the home meets the individual needs of the young people
  • Be responsible for a team of staff and work allocations, as well as undertaking direct work with children in the residential home when necessary.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the residential premises.
  • Ensure that all risk assessments and care plans are up to date, current and proportionate to the needs of each young person.

Requirements for this role:

  • A Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma or relevant Level 4 or 5 equivalent qualification
  • At least 2 years' previous experience in a similar environment (Residential Children's home)
  • Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader or currently in a Deputy Manager capacity with experience supervising shifts, and staff
  • Previous experience assisting the RM with Ofsted preparation, maintaining health & safety procedures, promoting development and wellbeing of children and young people, implement and review placement plans, maintaining daily routines,
  • Strong leadership and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of Children legislative requirements and Act, children's rights, Children's Home Regulations 2015, Care Standards Act 2000 , Safeguarding children's procedures
