Are you an enthusiastic and experienced leader in children's residential care seeking an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact? We're offering a rewarding role for a Deputy Manager to join our team at a 4-bedded children's home in Wisbech.

Key Responsibilities for the Deputy Manager:
  • Support the Manager in overseeing all aspects of the children's home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and best practices.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing a dedicated staff team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans for each child, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to meet their unique needs and aspirations.
  • Help create a warm and supportive environment, promoting positive relationships, trust, and stability for the children and young people.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to safeguarding procedures, protecting the welfare and rights of the children in your care.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, including local authorities and professionals, to provide holistic support and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care delivery, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance outcomes.
  • Support with budget management, resource allocation, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Qualifications and Requirements for the Deputy Manager:
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a children's residential care setting is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in children's residential care.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective engagement with staff, children, families, and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (such as NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Possession of a full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
