My client, an outstanding, Independent Specialist Provision in Kent, is seeking a confident, committed, and caring leader to join their team as a Deputy Head Teacher with resonsibility for Teaching and Learning.

The school strives to improve the life chances of the students they work with. Going above and beyond, they set high expectations and work together with staff, the local community and external agencies to improve outcomes.

You will be a hard working, caring, positive and motivated professional who will ideally have experience of working with children with SEMH and associated learning and behavioural challenges.

You will inspire your colleagues, staff, and pupils across two local sites to develop an outstanding curriculum offering and continue to raise standards and outcomes in T&L. Experience of working within a specialist provision will be an advantage but mainstream colleagues are extremely welcome to apply. You will need to be calm, flexible, resilient and most of all loving.

Key purpose of the job

  • To assist the Senior Leadership Team in developing the school as a high-quality specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues (SEMH)
  • To support in leading and managing the school to the highest professional standards
  • To uphold the ethos, aims and values of the school, its policies and codes of practice at all times
  • To support in the management of the school in the absence of the Head of School as appropriate
  • To provide leadership and management of curriculum data and tracking progress of students
  • Advise the Senior Leadership Team on curriculum issues.

 Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent; NPQ (or similar) highly desirable
  • Recognised teaching qualification and QTS (preferable)
  • Commitment to continued personal and professional development
