The Opportunity

The Deputy Finance Manager will take ownership of the complete month-end and financial close of its flagship division. Once that’s been achieved, they are then keen for the successful individual to spread their wings and business partner with the operations team and SMT to drive efficiencies and performance.

The role will report to an excellent Financial Controller that is extremely capable of joining the divisions Executive team and is already gravitating upwards creating the perfect platform to come in behind.
  
The Mentor

The Financial Controller is individual that is extremely passionate about developing aspiring finance professionals, and not only acting as a line manager but a true mentor figure. Once confidence and trust are gained with the new encumberment they will both provide a fantastic amount of freedom, visibility and autonomy for the new Deputy Finance Manager to express themselves & put their own stamp on the finance function.

On Offer

The position of Deputy Finance Manager is based in West Lothian and will offer:

  • £42,000 - £50,000 base salary

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Financial Controller
  • Dotted line to the Finance Director
  • Business partnering with the operations and SMT
  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit
  • Commercial and operational analysis – costs, margins, KPI’s
  • Cashflow analysis and forecasting
  • Assisting with budget setting and monitoring
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Overseeing month end close – journals, accruals, ledgers etc.
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Ahdoc duties
  
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Part qualified or qualified by experience
  • Strong month-end and management accounts experience
  • Ability to build relationships with non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficient user of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
