Pure are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Cambridge Finance Division as they embark on an exciting Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) Project which is highly significant and will have a University-wide impact. The project forms part of an overall Finance Transformation Programme (FTP).

This Deputy Finance Business Partner role deputises for the School Finance Business Partner enabling them to undertake project work emerging from the EFT, FTP and other initiatives across the school. This includes providing strategic and operational financial leadership for the school and its departments covering business partnering and business planning, management reporting and analysis, financial performance delivery and investment decision support. 

With oversight from the Finance Business Partner the role holder will take the lead on matters relating to financial budgeting and forecasting, including primary responsibility for financial planning and budget submissions. You will also undertake project work where required. 

You will have significant relevant experience, ideally gained in both commercial and Higher Education/ Public Sector environments and have the ability to interpret financial information and present to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. This position will have management responsibility for 1 member of staff and this could increase over time. 

You will ideally be a qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience, coupled with strong interpersonal/communication skills.

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of their approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.

This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.  Funding for this post is available for 3 years in the first instance Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure and a security check.
