Deputy Director of Learning - MFL (French)

We are looking for a Deputy Director of Learning - MFL (French) to join our team at a large all-through school. The successful candidate will be a French specialist with a passion for teaching and a commitment to improving standards and raising pupil outcomes. This role is an excellent opportunity for a middle leader to extend their experience or for an outstanding teacher to step into a leadership position.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop and implement a French curriculum that suits every type of learner.
  • Lead the MFL department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department.
  • Foster an environment that encourages language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Contribute to the school’s strategic planning and self-evaluation processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree-level qualification in French or a relevant subject and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Track record of delivering ‘outstanding’ teaching.
  • Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Ability to teach French to GCSE standard.
