Deputy DSL
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead required for a large academy in North Birmingham. Do you hold the DSL qualification and are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role within safeguarding? This this school is looking to add a Deputy DSL to the team to provide support for the DSL and ensure that students are safeguarded appropriately.

As a Deputy DSL you will contribute to the development and implementation of school safeguarding policies and work alongside a small, welcoming team of Deputy DSL’s to manage day-to-day safeguarding concerns. You will also be managing referrals, providing training, and supporting the DSL in meetings with outside agencies and the local authority.

This role requires a qualified DSL who is organised, proactive and committed to keeping children safe. The role is challenging however, you will be joining an exceptional team of teaching and support staff who are committed to making a difference. Job Role:
  • Supporting the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Support the referral process to local authority and outside agencies
  • Keeping detail, accurate and secure written records of concerns and referrals
  • Educating staff on school safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Be aware of specific needs of individual children
  • Be vigilant of any safeguarding concerns that may arise
  • Reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
