Depot Director

We are retained by a leading prestigious and long-established Timber Distributor who due to expansion is seeking an experienced, professional Depot Director. The Depot Director’s role will require an ambitious & confident individual responsible for promoting and developing this already busy and established Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity for a career-driven individual who will play a vital role within the business and continually look for ways of improving procedures and driving the Depot forward.

Reporting to: Regional Director

As Depot Director you will develop and manage the Depot and provide the highest levels of customer services, to maximise the sales and profitability, you will lead, motivate, and support your team. You will oversee all aspects of the site including sales & all operations

Depot Directors' Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Regional Director to ensure all targets are met
• Ensure Depot is compliant with all Health & Safety
• Support, motivate, coach, and help raise the performance standards of your team
• Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identifying key players
• Build both supplier and customer relationships to improve the sales and margin capability of the Depot
• Ensure all sales orders, follow-up sales enquiries and delivery schedules are done quickly and efficiently

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in the Construction Product Distribution sector in a senior managerial position
• Experience within the building supply trade essential
• General Construction knowledge essential & knowledge of the Construction sector
• Excellent people management skills self-motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
• Experience of Team Building
• Effective communication skills
• Customer-focused with sound commercial skills.
• Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
