Job Description:

Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) are looking for a Debt Advice Workstream Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and welcoming team. As part of the debt function at MaPS, the role will work with the Debt Advice Strategy Manager in the co-ordination and delivery of the workstreams under the MaPS debt advice strategy including the commissioning lifecycle, innovation, and delivery development.

This role will be responsible for the following:
  • Day to day support to the debt advice strategy workstreams to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints
  • Identifying skill requirements and deploy and develop resources to deliver across the debt function
  • Identifying and monitoring of risks and issues. Developing mitigating actions and escalating as appropriate.
  • Identifying and working with related projects and workstreams to manage interdependencies
  • Supporting effective governance and decision making. Provide and maintain reporting mechanisms to account for delivery including the timely and accurate socialisation of key artefacts
  • Engaging with assurance reviews and supporting action on recommendations
  • Supporting the development of Business Cases, with input from specialists as necessary
  • Identifying and managing stakeholder relationships

This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of duties. The need for flexibility, shared accountability and team working is required, and the role-holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Essential & Desirable Criteria:

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of planning, monitoring and controlling workstreams including budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Experience of working effectively with wide range of stakeholders across other government departments, directorate/business group lines.
  • Experience of overseeing risk and issue management
  • Experience of the debt advice sector and advice development and delivery
  • Experience of impact assessing new and complex areas of work
  • Experience of day to day management and support of workstreams and/or projects
  • Experience of managing or supporting governance forums ensuring timely and accurate socialisation of key artefacts


Desirable:
  • Understanding of the commercial lifecycle
