A social housing provider is looking to add a Damp & Mould Operative to their Chesterfield branch.Due to the rising pressure and issues surrounding damp & mould within social housing, this organisation is creating some new roles to help them tackle some of these issues.
This is a permanent position with a salary starting at £22,000 and rising to £23,500

Working Hours & Holidays
* Working hours per week- 40, Monday to Friday
* Flexi-time
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 30 as years of service increase)

Your new role

  • Remove any defective decoration damaged by damp and mould.
  • Wash, clean and treat affected surfaces with specified specialist products.
  • Undertake small elements of decoration when required following treatment.
  • Ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • To take before and after photographs to document the works undertaken.
  • To access loft spaces to measure the depth of loft insulation and notify the office if additional insulation is required and to visibly check the fitting of the insulation and
    make adjustments if there are obvious areas that have been disturbed.
  • Where cleaning and treatment works in the property lead to additional concerns, to raise these with the Damp & Mould team to undertake further investigation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Able to demonstrate awareness of issues associated with personal risk assessment, health and safety conditions on site and lone working
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in decorating preferred
  • Possess a full valid driving license
  • Able to work with mobile/ipad technology
  • Able to access loft space and work in a confined area
  • Be willing to undertake any training required to carry out the job e.g. Legionella, lifting and manual handling, COSHH
