My client is searching for a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join their team in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Applications for this role will be considered from qualified solicitors or equivalent who are duty solicitor qualified.

Duties and responsibilities

• Candidates will need to have a proactive approach and be client-focused, with a flexible attitude to their work. The role will include court work and advocacy with the added duty of advising clients at the police station.
• You will also be expected to optimise opportunities for developing client relationships and manage your own caseload efficiently as well as prioritising the workload of the support staff.
• As the duty solicitor, you will be part of the out-of-hours rota for attending police stations and of course, supporting in the preparation for crown court as needed.
