Credit Controller
  • Location: Crowborough, East Sussex / Canning Town, London
  • Job Type: Hybrid
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to oversee the credit control function for various markets including the UK, Germany, and Poland. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to credit control procedures and processes, with a focus on timely and accurate payment of invoices in line with agreed terms of business.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the Credit Controller function, managing full ledgers and aged reports in multiple currencies for the UK, Germany, and Poland, and other markets as required.
  • Chase payment from clients via phone and email, escalating issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Send monthly statements to clients, reconcile accounts, and manage client portals to ensure invoice approval and timely payments.
  • Handle client queries and build strong relationships with clients (both global and local), internal stakeholders, and other offices.
  • Manage intercompany receivable accounts to ensure prompt payments.
Secondary Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyse monthly and annual KPIs such as percentage of aged debt and days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Assist with month-end analysis and reporting related to cash collection, aging of debtors, cash flow forecasts, and bad debt provision requirements.
  • Seek continuous improvements in processes and procedures to aid prompt cash collection.
  • Participate in team-building exercises.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent organisational, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • O Level / GCSE Maths / English required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a credit control role.
  • Experience working with EMEA-wide and/or global clients and offices.
  • Proven track record of improving collections and processes.
  • Netsuite experience would be beneficial.
