Credit Controller

• Salary: Up to £27,000 (pro-rata for 3 months)
• Location: Canterbury
• Job Type: Temporary (3 months with potential for permanent position)

We are currently seeking a dedicated Credit Controller for a 3-month temporary position with a well-established debt collection company in Canterbury. This role has been created due to the acquisition of new accounts, and there is a potential for a permanent role following a period of good performance. This is a target-driven position with a bonus structure in place for those who meet or exceed their targets.

• Manage and collect debts from company debtors
• Evaluate new credit requests and review customers’ credit rankings
• Set up repayment plans and negotiate payment terms with debtors
• Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
• Ensure that all transactions are compliant with company policies
• Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
• Provide accurate advice on billing queries
• Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
• Prepare files for external debt collection agencies or for legal action if necessary
• Propose write-off of irrecoverable receivables
• Provide ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management

• Proven experience as a Credit Controller
• Strong understanding of the debt collection process
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to targets
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong administrative skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office products and accounting software
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
