Credit Controller

Reed are working with a company based in Burton and are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join the finance team. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximising cash collection and maintaining minimal aged debt. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both the sales team and customers to manage sales ledger accounts and ensure efficient credit control processes.

This is a full-time, permanent role and hybrid working is available. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively chase accounts by telephone and email to maximise cash collection.
• Manage sales ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of all communications using a bespoke collections system.
• Conduct weekly collections forecasting and risk analysis.
• Maintain regular liaison with the sales team to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Engage in problem-solving and perform complex reconciliations.
• Work towards and understand given targets, monitoring overtrading and managing credit limits.
• Provide holiday cover for team members and support the team with various duties as requested by the line manager.
• Log queries, handle banking tasks, and release orders in a timely manner.
• Raise credit notes and manage related documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex reconciliations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using financial software, especially SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
