Credit Controller

• Location: Medway
• Job Type: Temporary (up to 3 months with potential for permanency)
• Annual Salary: Up to £28,000

We are currently seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join our debt collection team on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to the efficiency of our operations in the Medway area.

• Managing and collecting debts from company debtors
• Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers’ credit rankings
• Setting up of terms and conditions of credit
• Ensuring timely payment of debts
• Following up payments as needed
• Negotiating re-payment plans
• Responding to relevant client enquiries
• Processing and reconciliation of invoices
• Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems
• Preparation of statements, client status reports and all relevant information as required

• Proven experience as a Credit Controller
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
• Proficient in MS Office and data entry; knowledge of accounting software is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
• Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail
• Competence in negotiation and dealing with difficult situations
