KCR Solutions are working with this growing manufacturing company based in Washington in their search for a Credit Controller on a part time basis (3 days per week).

You will be involved in a range of administrative and commercial duties specifically in relation to the Credit Control function. The pro-active management of debt plays a significant part in the overall cash management of the business. This role within the finance team ensures both the smooth running and controlled administration of the finance function within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively reduce sales ledger debtor days and ageing issues by chasing and resolving customer queries and enforcing the company's credit policy
  • Ensure that follow-up dates and actions achieve 100% success
  • Work with the Commercial team to resolve queries received from customers, providing excellent customer service
  • Opening new accounts and performing credit checks
  • Sending out credit application forms
  • Reporting doubtful debts to the credit insurers, in line with their terms
  • Launching legal proceedings and credit insurance claims when authorised by the Financial Controller
  • Producing monthly reports figures are and statistics using Microsoft Office products
  • Act as part of the credit control team for the wider business, sharing good practice
  • Ensuring that credit control monthly key milestones such as production of statements and debt letters are met, and that correspondence is distributed on time
  • Participate from time-to-time in business improvement projects as may be required

Person Specification and Skills

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Credit Control is essential
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential
  • Questioning skills and the ability to be assertive with customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to use these in a range of contexts are essential
  • Good numerical skills are essential
  • Experience of using a range of ERP systems preferred
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are essential
  • A willingness to learn and develop on a personal level is essential
