At SANZA Teaching, we understand the importance of finding the right support for every child. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced British Sign Language Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Brent as soon as possible. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a Deaf child with additional needs, including suspected ASD/Autism.
Role Details:
You will be providing crucial support to a Deaf child in Year 1 who communicates orally and has behavioural needs associated with additional conditions, potentially including ASD/Autism.
Additional Details:
- Location: Brent
- Start Date: Immediate
- Salary: £85-£105 per day, dependent on experience
- Duration: Initially for the Summer term, with potential for extension to September (to be confirmed in July)
Candidate Requirements:
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)
- Previous experience working with children with Deafness and additional needs, particularly ASD/Autism
- Kindness, firmness, patience, and understanding in supporting behavioural and communication needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the child's holistic development
