Location: East Dorset

Salary: up to £40k DOE + Overtime available @ X1.5

Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri- (start time may vary)

Benefits: 22 days + Bank Hols, Pension, Company Van supplied, company mobile phone, Training provided.

Must be able to drive for this role.

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working with our client who are a well-established family run business and who are now looking for an additional member of staff to join their hardworking team.

They are looking for a Field Crane Technician to join their team with the successful candidate having some previous experience / knowledge within motor vehicles predominantly HIAB Cranes. You will be field based travelling around the South coast of England. Jobs are booked onto your outlook calendar on the company mobile and you will be required to travel to various sites. Jobs are usually booked up to 1 year in advance, although this may change to do prioritising breakdowns. You may be required to start before 8am to consider the travel to get to the first location. Hours worked before 8am will be paid at overtime.

Please note this role requires you to supply your own Tools - Parts / Company vehicle and PPE will be provided.

The successful Crane Technician will: -

  • Have previous Workshop / mechanical experience
  • Worked within electronics / hydraulics previously or has a strong passion for it
  • Hold a full Driving licence no more than 6 points (minor offences only)
  • Have their own Tools
  • Being able to work alone and independently
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Punctuality
  • Methodical and organised
  • Being approachable and helpful
  • Able to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and remain resilient and determined
  • Good attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in Cranes
  • Have a flexible approach to work.

Job duties

  • Carry out servicing and repair work to cranes as scheduled
  • Attend breakdowns as required
  • Driving and travelling the South of England
  • Good Technical knowledge and high level of attention to detail
  • Good basic knowledge of hydraulics, electrics and general crane operation
  • Complete any other Tasks required
  • Field based role - van + fuel card and mobile phone are supplied
  • Product training on the Hiab cranes are provided
  • Carrying out quality control checks
  • Ensure the jobs are being undertaken in a professional and correct manner.
