Cover Supervisor

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: September 2024 - July 2025

Are you a recent graduate who is looking to kickstart a career in Education? Then Empowering Learning are looking for you.

We are working with a local Secondary School who are looking to appoint a cover supervisor to join them in September. Working alongside senior leaders and teaching staff to support teaching and behaviour where needed, you will become an integral part of the school staffing structure.

The school are looking for motivated and self-assured individuals who are looking to make a career in education.

The role of the cover supervisor is a varied role where no two days are the same, a rewarding role where you will be working alongside students and staff alike to improve teaching and learning outcomes for young people.

The daily duties will include but not limited too

  • To cover short term absence
  • Supervising work set, using the necessary resources that have been provided
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils in line with school's behaviour policy
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in line with the school policy and procedures
  • Leaving feedback for the class teacher

This role involves no planning as lessons will be prepared and resources provided.

To be successful for this role you will need,

  • To be educated to degree level
  • Have a passion for education.
  • Understand the national curriculum.
  • Be able to form positive relationships with staff, students and parents/carers
  • Have strong behaviour management skills
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for a new check to be done.
