Cover Supervisor

• Location: Weston-super-Mare
• Job Type: Temporary (April 15th - End of July)
• Working Hours: School Hours 830-1530

We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team on a temporary basis from April 15th until the end of July. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students continue their learning and maintain good order.

• Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
• Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment.
• Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
• Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
• Collecting completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
• Reporting back as appropriate, using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.

• Experience in a school setting, preferably as a Cover Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to promote discipline and respect.
• Good communication skills and the ability to engage with students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to cover a variety of subjects.
• A commitment to supporting students in their learning journey.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo this procedure).
