Cover supervisor - Salford

We are specifically working with a secondary school in Salford, who are working exclusively with ourselves to provide a cover supervisor to work with them ASAP. They would like all their short term cover (up to three days absence) to be carried out by enthusiastic, lively graduates, who have a genuine interest in education. During the academic year, absence periods can be high (seasonal colds, staff courses, etc) and there is the opportunity for lots of regular work for several individuals in this school.

Cover Supervisor work provides a great platform for graduates - both with practical experience, and also knowledge to create attractive, engaging personal statements and applications. If you have previous experience of working with young people through clubs or experience in a position of authority this role could be for yourself. You will need to be calm under pressure and stressful situations, as you could be placed in situations with a lack of prep time due to the changing nature of schools.

Many pupils are happy and proud to attend the school. Supportive relationships with teachers help most pupils to feel safe in school. During the last year, senior leaders have successfully worked to raise teachers' expectations of what pupils can achieve. Many pupils follow teachers' instructions and listen attentively in class. There are lots of lunchtime and after-school activities in which pupils can take part. For example, some pupils make the most of clubs, such as volleyball, weightlifting, table tennis and ceramics. Pupils appreciate opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, such as being school prefects and student council representatives.
