Costs Draftsperson – Housing Disrepair

The Costs Draftsperson role at my client based in Liverpool involves providing bespoke Cost Drafting support primarily in Housing Disrepair claims. This position requires working collaboratively within a team environment to meet individual and departmental scheduling targets. The ideal candidate should demonstrate drive, determination, and ambition for a stimulating career.

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting bills of costs using CostsMaster drafting software.
  • Providing dedicated costs support to colleagues within the Department and the legal business.
  • Working closely with colleagues and the Department Manager to meet drafting expectations.
  • Maintaining awareness of claim lifecycles to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Adhering to departmental objectives and maintaining departmental working practices.
  • Demonstrating initiative and autonomy in managing own caseload.
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure adherence to legal processes and documentation.
  • Being passionate, enthusiastic, and adaptable to change within the business environment.


Requirements:
  • Degree level qualification or Qualified Costs Lawyer (desirable).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Bill Drafting role.
  • Proficiency in using CostsMaster drafting software.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and research skills.
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation, case law, and costs industry regulations.
  • Experience with Proclaim case management system (desirable).
  • Diligence and high attention to detail.
  • Personality traits include tenacity and adaptability.
