TN Recruits Law have just taken on an excellent role within this outstanding firm, that has fantastic heritage and great work/life balance!
 
They are in search of a highly motivated Costs Draftsman to join their dynamic Costs Team. This role is based within their Canterbury office, offering a flexible blend of office and remote work following an initial settling-in period.
 
The Costs Team plays a pivotal role in maximising the recovery of legal costs across various teams, including Dispute Resolution, and Clinical Negligence. The Cost Draftsman will take charge of Court of Protection costs claims within the Senior Courts Costs Office. You will be involved with the preparation and submission of electronic bills of costs for assessment by the Court on behalf of clients.
 
Key Duties:
  • Prepare Reports including OPG 102 and OPG 105.
  • Draft and submit electronic bills of costs for assessment at both County Court and Senior Courts Costs Office levels.
  • Prepare documents for assessment, including the creation of e-bundles.
  • Undertake post-assessment processes, providing advice on/preparation of assessment appeals.
  • Stay informed about and apply changes in rules/laws related to the above processes.
  • Offer support to the Costs Team as needed.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience in a costs drafting role, or Financial background.
  • Solid knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Proficiency in CostsMaster drafting software.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with filing via CE-File (HM Courts & Tribunals E-Filing Service) is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and nurture positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage your caseload effectively.

Salary: £25,000 (23.5 days annual leave + Bank Holidays)
Hours: 9am -5:15pm Monday – Friday (hybrid following probationary period)
